Resume Videos – What To Expect
This service does not include recording game play. Instead, we rely upon you to provide the video footage you have accumulated. Fly2High will edit your game footage into a professional, concise video presentation that showcases your best talents and abilities.
A key element to making a great video is image quality and we will be relying upon you to provide your very best footage. The better the footage, the better the final product. We will produce a 3 to 6-minute highlight video that features 1.) a brief athletic profile, 2.) video clips that showcase skill/talent and 3.) your contact information. All videos will be be set to music and the athlete accented on each video segment. Remember, it’s all about showing a coach how you will be an asset to their team. The focus will be on short clips of ball handling and/or demonstrating skill during game play.
Before meeting with us, you will have some homework:
- Gather together the video files and clips that contain the highlights you want in the video.
- Review your video footage and note the time stamp of the action you want to highlight. Fly2High provides a worksheet you can use to organize this information.
- Gather a few digital photographs you would like to use as a profile image. These should be a front torso shot. (Fly2High can take these photographs for an additional charge.)
- Try and find a great close-in action photo if you have one. We will use this as a background.
- Complete the “Athlete Data – Worksheet” that we provide.
- Upload the images and video to Fly2High’s site.
WHEN YOU MEET WITH US – Plan on about an hour. Make sure you already uploaded your media files. If you are not able to do this, please have your media files on SD card, Micro SD card, USB flash or thumb drive. Be sure to have the worksheet with the time stamps of the action segments as well as the Athlete Data worksheet completed. We will review all of the materials with you and see if there are any questions.
A first draft edit is normally completed within 3-workdays of getting all needed materials to Fly2High. We then meet with you and finalize the video project. A final edit is normally completed 2-workdays after this meeting.
Tips For Recording Game Play
- Video from multiple games provides variety.
- Shots taken from an elevated position (like in the stands) are better than those taken from field level.
- Use a tripod if possible. Tripod mounted cameras nearly always produce better footage than handheld cameras.
- Get close to the action. If not physically, use the telephoto feature on your camera.
